There's been some discussion in the Business Forum at syracuse.com regarding public restrooms. Some feel that a clean bathroom reflects positively on the business, while others think that it doesn't matter as long as the prices are low, they'll go there for their shopping and somewhere else to use the loo.

I think there probably ought to be a middle option. Because I don't think many will disagree with clean restrooms reflecting positively on the store... but it's possible to believe that and not really give a hoot about it either.

All I'll say about this is: If you're ever on a highway running through the south, and you see a sign advertising 'CLEANEST BATHROOMS IN THE SOUTH', run. Run fast, don't even think about stopping. They will be the most disgusting bathrooms you've ever set foot in.
